IAFeS – International Association for e-Science together with the Politehnica University of Timisoara have the pleasure of inviting you to submit your scientific works for the NETTIES (Network Entities) Conference 2026 to take place in Timisoara, Romania, 28-29 May.
The 23rd NETTIES Conference will be linked tot he E3UDRES2 PhD Summer School „AI Tools Used in Research“ that will take place during 25-29 May 2026 in the Politehnica University of Timisoara.
IAFeS supports the concept of interdisciplinarity and welcomes submissions from all scientific areas that deal with research, innovation in education, promising concepts, critical reflections, visionary ideas and/or best practices related to the topic:

Shaping Society, Culture, Education and Science Together

We invite scholars, researchers, educators, technologists, policymakers, and creative practitioners to submit original contributions exploring the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and humanity. This interdisciplinary call seeks to examine how AI and human collaboration are reshaping society, influencing cultural expression, transforming education, and accelerating scientific discovery.
As AI systems become deeply embedded in everyday life, critical reflection and innovative research are essential to ensure that technological progress aligns with human values, ethical principles, and social responsibility. We welcome theoretical, empirical, and practice-based work that investigates both opportunities and challenges arising from this dynamic partnership.

Suggested Topics Include (but are not limited to):

  • AI and social transformation: governance, equity, labor, and public policy
  • Human-centered AI design and ethical frameworks
  • AI in cultural production, media, and the arts
  • Education in the age of AI: personalized learning, digital literacy, and pedagogy
  • AI as a catalyst for scientific research and interdisciplinary discovery
  • Trust, transparency, and accountability in AI systems
  • Global and cross-cultural perspectives on AI development and adoption
  • Philosophical and humanistic perspectives on intelligence and agency

We encourage contributions that bridge disciplines and offer forward-looking insights into how AI and humanity can collaboratively shape a more inclusive, creative, and sustainable future.
Submissions may include research papers, case studies, conceptual analyses, or applied research reports. All submissions will undergo peer review.
Join us in advancing a thoughtful dialogue on how AI and humanity can shape society, culture, education, and science—together.
All papers will be published as a special publication with an ISBN number. Author will be sent a printed copy of the publication after the conference.

Application

Submit an abstract of your presentation (max. 1 page) together with your short bio (max. 200 words) as soon as possible but no later than 4th May 2026 to hannes.raffaseder@ustp.ac.at, radu.vasiu@upt.ro and diana.andone@upt.ro.
After May 10th we’ll announce a draft programme of the conference.
